Kevin Alvarez has signed a contract extension with Pachuca, keeping him at the club through 2026.
The right-back has become a vital part of the team under head coach Guillermo Almada, starting all 11 matches this season to lead Pachuca to fourth on the Liga MX table. He also played a crucial role in the team’s 2021 Clausura campaign that saw Pachuca atop the table and reach the final against Atlas.
His latest run with the Liga MX side sparked several transfer rumors, linking Alvarez to an imminent move abroad. Though the player admitted that he dreams of a move abroad, no concrete offers were presented.
“It’s my dream at the moment, that and playing a World Cup. I am working hard to complete both dreams. But no, no offer has been presented to me,” he said after the Liga MX vs. MLS All Star match.
The Mexican will now stay at Liga MX as he fights to make Gerardo Martino’s 26-player roster headed to Qatar. He is currently with the Mexican national team in Atlanta, Georgia as they prepare to host Paraguay in a friendly match at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
