Jurgen Klopp stated that both Luis Diaz and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injuries are ‘not good’ after both were taken off in Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat to Arsenal.
Diaz was subbed off during the first half with a knee injury, while Alexander-Arnold came off at half-time after suffering an ankle injury following a heavy collision with Gabriel Martinelli on the left flank. The former was later seen on crutches in the mix zone.
Speaking after the game to the club’s official website, Klopp provided rather worrying updates on both players’ conditions, stating: “Lucho [Luis Diaz] we had to change before [half-time]. [It’s] something with the knee, not good.
“He will have a scan and then we will know more. I have no idea about the extent and then on top of that Trent is bad as well with the ankle.
“[He] twisted the ankle, not good. Trent never, in seven years, went off if he could have played on. He was in too much pain, it started swelling immediately, so we will have to see.”
Earlier in an interview with Sky Sports, Klopp discussed how he intends to right Liverpool’s league form: “Working, talking, thinking – probably first – and then talking to the boys, and then coaching them, and helping them and then go again.
“We don’t have to look yet at the table but we know where we are without looking at it, we are not dumb. The table is not the problem, the problem is the points but they make the place in the table. We have to sort it and we will.”
