Erling Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta has welcomed the prospect of him penning a new contract at Manchester City, amid reports already surfacing about his potential exit.
The Norwegian forward joined City in summer from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £51 million and has enjoyed the perfect start to life in England.
Haaland has already bagged 20 goals in all competitions for City, needing just 14 games to reach the figure, settling into Pep Guardiola’s side seamlessly.
There were doubts over whether or not Haaland would be able to slot into the intricate system that has developed at City with many believing that it would take him time to adjust to the Premier League as a result, but his lightning fast start has completely quashed those.
It has also brought around speculation over his next move, with him still being just 22 years old. But in an interview with Sky Sports, Pimenta has confirmed they would love to discuss new terms with City.
“I hope so!” She responded when asked if a new contract would be discussed soon: “If they [City] want to discuss today, we’d be happy. Why not? Always good!”
Haaland is contracted to City until 2027, but it is believed that there is a release clause written into his current deal that will activate in 2024, set at around €200m. 90min understands City are not worried about the clause, with Haaland also set to be one of the world’s best players by the time it activates.
