Son Heung-min was left with a swollen eye after taking a blow to the head against Marseille, and Tottenham aren’t yet sure about the severity of the injury.

It proved to be a good night for Spurs who, on the verge of being knocked out of the Champions League after going 1-0 down, bounced back to win 3-1 and top their group.

However, things weren’t quite perfect with key player Son having to be subbed off after being hit in the head by Chancel Mbemba as the two challenged for the ball.

Pictures have now emerged of the South Korean and his team-mates celebrating in the dressing room after the match, and show that he’s been left with a swollen eye.

In such photos, the forward is in good spirits but is unable to open his left eye at all due to the swelling.

The fear now will be that he suffered concussion which, if serious enough, could rule him out for the weekend match against Liverpool.

Speaking to the press in place of the suspended Antonio Conte, assistant manager Cristian Stellini stated that the club don’t yet know whether that’s and are waiting for a medical assessment to be done.

“In this moment, we don’t know,” he told reporters on Tuesday night. “We have to wait for a medical assessment, and we have to wait until tomorrow. Sonny feels better now. I saw him in the dressing room. He celebrated with us. So we will wait for tomorrow.

“We are not sure [if he was concussed]. It is his face. His eye is a bit swollen.”
