Schade has been a regular at club level for the Bundesliga side during the 2022/23 campaign, scoring four goals in 21 appearances and impressing with his pace down the right flank.

The 21-year-old has also caught the eye with his performances for Germany’s Under-21 side by scoring four goals in just five appearances for his country.

This form hasn’t gone unnoticed across Europe and 90min now can confirm that Brentford are set to sign the talented youngster for a fee of €20m plus add-ons, with the club expecting the deal to be fully official by the weekend.

The signing will bookmark what’s been a brilliant week for Thomas Frank’s side. Brentford kicked off their 2023 with a shock, and thoroughly impressive, 3-1 win over Liverpool at the Gtech Community Stadium on Monday thanks to goals from Yoane Wissa, Bryan Mbeumo and an Ibrahima Konate own goal.

Thanks to that win, Brentford now sit in seventh place in the Premier League table after 18 games, just six points adrift of the Champions League qualification places.
