Brazil have included Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos in their 23-player squad for the March internationals.

The 18-year-old returned to previous club Vasco da Gama on loan from the Blues earlier this week after the UK government rejected his application for a work permit.

However, senior appearances with Brazil should give him hope of obtaining a work permit in the near future.

Santos’ return to Vasco is on a deal until the summer, at which point Chelsea hope he will have reached requirements to legally play in England.

A deal to send Santos to Palmeiras broke down over their reluctance for Chelsea to bring him back to London midway through the Brazilian season.

Chelsea also hope that Santos will compete at the Under-20 World Cup in May having already impressed at the South American Championships over the winter.

Santos and Brazil’s senior side will take on World Cup semi-finalists Morocco in Tangier in their only game during the international window later this month.

Tite is yet to be replaced as head coach, with interim manager Ramon Menezes taking charge.
