Many expected Manchester City to waltz to their third consecutive Premier League title this season, but a surprise contender from north London has threatened the Citizens’ domestic supremacy.

While Pep Guardiola’s side are now starting to find their very best form, 2022/23 has been all about Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal. After missing out on Champions League football last season, the Gunners recruited well in the summer and further evolved under their exciting new manager to rise to the very top of the Premier League table.

They’ve led the way for most of the campaign, but their status at the summit is under threat. Dropped points at Anfield have cut their lead to six points having played a game more, and City also have the advantage of playing their decisive head-to-head meeting on home soil.

Here’s everything you need to know about the potential title decider between Man City and Arsenal.

This potential title decider will take place on Wednesday 26 April at 20:00 (BST).

While Arsenal will play just five times after their visit to the Etihad, City will likely play seven Premier League games due to their FA Cup commitments.

While the latter’s schedule is more congested, Arsenal’s does look the trickier on paper as they visit Newcastle and Nottingham Forest. Brighton will also pose a distinct threat when the visit the Emirates, with City taking on the Seagulls at the AMEX.

Guardiola’s side, though, will be expected to win the five games that are currently scheduled after Arsenal’s visit before they take on Brentford in west London on the final day. While Thomas Frank’s side likely won’t be playing for much, the Bees are always a tough foe.

Premier League fixtures, table & top scorers

The Etihad Stadium will play host to this potential title-decider. Man City have been imperious on home soil this season; losing just one of their 14 home games thus far.

Brentford are the only visiting team to win at the Etihad in 2022/23, while Arsenal haven’t won away at City since January 2015.

With the fixture still a couple of weeks away, full scheduling information isn’t out yet. It’s not yet been revealed which US broadcaster will stream the potential Premier League title decider, for example.
