Klopp explained that it gave Liverpool ‘different opportunities’ in the game that eventually finished 2-2 thanks to a late Roberto Firmino equaliser. The Reds might even have taken more from the game but for Mohamed Salah penalty miss andRead More →

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has revealed how Thomas Tuchel’s reenergising of the club’s changing room played a huge part in their shock Champions League success in 2021. Tuchel succeeded Frank Lampard as Chelsea boss in January 2021 and less than five months later was celebrating victory in European club’s football primary competition, after beating Manchester City in the Champions League final. Palmeiras manager Abel Ferreira has called out Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag over his scheduling complaints, insisting the Dutchman does not know the meaning of being overloaded. Marcus Rashford limped off injured during the recent 2-0 win over Everton, after which Ten Hag blamed United’s hectic schedule for the issue and challenged the Premier League to make a change. That was United’s third game in just six days, but Ten Hag found no sympathy from Ferreira who, despite watching his side win the Campeonato Paulista, was in no mood to humour the United man’s concerns. “Football here has some fantastic qualities, but there are othersRead More →

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire insists he has done himself ‘justice’ with his performances this season, but is adamant that he won’t be satisfied until he plays every game. From being one of the first names on the teamsheet under former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Maguire has unceremoniously tumbled down the pecking order at Old Trafford this season – Erik ten Hag has preferred a Lisandro Martinez-Raphael Varane partnership and will also often turn to Victor Lindelof from the bench if he wants an extra layer of defensive protection. Maguire was dropped in the wake of the humiliating 4-0 defeat to Brentford back in AugustRead More →
