Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed he didn’t want to take any risks with Luke Shaw after he was substituted in the first half of their 1-0 win against Brentford on Wednesday evening. The Red Devils won their first Premier League game since February with a narrow victory against the high-flying Bees, with Marcus Rashford scoring the winner midway through the first half. The highs of February’s Carabao Cup triumph have quickly been usurped by Premier League perils at Manchester United. After beating Newcastle 2-0 at Wembley to claim their first piece of silverware under Erik ten Hag, United have endured a barren run in the league and have subsequently fallen out of the top-four. Defeats at Anfield and St. James’ Park were chastening in their own ways, and it’s safe to say Ten Hag is currently going through his first tricky period since the first two weeks of the 2022/23 campaign – although a win over Brentford did help steady the ship. Nevertheless, the Red Devils’ excellentRead More →

Barcelona are hoping to complete their renovation of Camp Nou in 2025, with the newly redeveloped stadium the centre-piece of the club’s wider ‘Espai Barça’ project. Some of the work is already ongoing and the Blaugrana are planning to play home games next season at the city’s Olympic Stadium in Montjuic during the more invasive aspects of work. The idea was to return to Camp Nou at reduced capacity in 2024/25 while the remaining work was carried out, but then reap the financial reward of a state of the art home and venue once the project is complete. However, the timeline has been revised andRead More →

Within a matter of hours on Sunday night, both Leicester City and Chelsea parted company with Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter respectively. Antonio Conte had mentally checked out months earlier but Tottenham only got around to firing the Italian coach in late March. None of those three clubs have managed to fill their vacant hot seat. Let’s give them a helping hand. Luis EnriqueRead More →
