Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has revealed he expects his side to knock Real Madrid out of the UEFA Champions League.
The English champions are through to the semi-finals for a third successive season after eliminating Bayern Munich in the last eight, drawing 1-1 at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night to seal a 4-1 aggregate victory.
Awaiting Man City are holders Real Madrid in a rematch of last year’s semi-final. Pep Guardiola’s men prevailed 4-3 at the Etihad Stadium, and had led 1-0 in the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, Rodrygo scored twice in stoppage time to level the aggregate scores, and Karim Benzema’s penalty sent Los Blancos to the final to face Liverpool.

It continued Man City’s long run of unlikely European failures, but when speaking to BT Sport on Wednesday, Silva was asked whether his side could exact revenge on Real Madrid.
“Hopefully yes! We will go for it definitely. We always go for it, but we feel the team is very, very confident at the minute. I think we are going through.”
Man City are unbeaten in all competitions since February 5 when they were defeated 1-0 by Tottenham, and Silva said there is a confidence in the dressing room again having rediscovered their ruthless edge.
“Very confident. We’re in a very good moment, the best moment of the season for the team. We struggled until February because we couldn’t get in that usual run we had in the past, winning 10 or 15 or 20 games in a row,” he added.
“Now, the team is very consistent, the way we’re playing, we feel we have a chance in every competition. We’re going for that.”
Man City and Real Madrid have faced off eight times since the former made their Champions League debut back in 2012.
The record is as even as possible, with each side winning three games apiece and playing out two draws.
