BTTS FAQs

What does BTTS mean?

BTTS stands for Both Teams To Score, and is a type of betting based on whether both teams score in a match or not. It is unique to football and is hugely popular among fans.

How to play BTTS

First off, take a look at our Both Teams To Score Tips and see which ones you like the look of. It always pays to be informed! Then choose a match that you think will produce goals.

This could be between two high-scoring teams, two weak defences or two teams missing key defensive players. Or perhaps both sides have an in-form striker?

With these considerations in mind, Barcelona and Real Madrid are prime examples of popular teams to bet on for this bet type. But as much as our tips can help you, ultimately, the decision is yours.

Does BTTS count in extra time?

Short answer, no. Both Teams To Score bets only include the game’s standard 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Be careful with cup competitions, since the likes of the FA Cup, Champions League and World Cup will often include extra time at the end of their matches. Goals scored during this time will not count towards your BTTS bet.

What is BTTS or Both Teams to Score?

Our free BTTS tips are a simple to understand concept which is described in the name of this popular betting market. In order to win a Both Teams to Score bet, both teams in the game must score at least one goal apiece. The actual final score when the full-time whistle is irrelevant - just as long as both teams get that ball over the goal line! So, whether it's 1-1 or 9-1 the bet is a winner. This type of prediction is often also referred to as GG which is an abbreviation of Goal Goal.

What does BTTS stand for?

Those new to football betting often see this abbreviation and ask themselves this question. It's Both Teams TScore - easy once you know it. Both terms are used interchangeably, so get used to seeing both variations.

How do you select your GG Predictions?

The way that we choose our Goal Goal tips has a lot to do with statistics. When looking at all football matches before betting, we trawl through the recent historical results as well as head-to-head meetings between teams. However, with GG soccer predictions we also need to consider the attacking and defensive qualities of each team which is a big contributing factor here. Certain teams are known to be high scorers and others miserly in their approach. We also keep an eye on injuries, suspensions and other absences of key players because this may have a big overall bearing on the capacity of each team to score/concede goals. What are Both Teams to Score Accumulators?

We produce these kind of free tips regularly. They combine multiple individual BTTS tips ('legs') into one bet called an accumulator. The Both Teams to Score accumulator requires all legs to succeed, so your probability of winning decreases but on the flip side, your potential returns increase massively. That's because the odds of each bet are all multiplied. For example, 4 single bets each with decimal odds of 3.0 becomes one accumulator bet with returns of 3x3x3x3 = 81!

How does Both Teams To Score betting work?

A Both Teams To Score wager is very simple. You are betting on whether both teams in a match will find the back of the net or not. It doesn’t matter if the game ends 1-1, 3-2 or 7-1 – if you’ve backed the ‘Yes’ option, your bet will be a winner. On the other hand, if you back ‘No’, you’ll win if one or neither side scores.

What are the advantages of both teams to score tips?

There are so many reasons to back a BTTS tip.

How many times have you been about to win a bet, only for your team to let you down by conceding in the final minutes?

How often have you backed the favourite only to find they’ve not turned up and are suddenly being outplayed by a mid-table side?

Both Teams To Score tips have none of these issues. Once both sides have found the back of the net, your bet is a winner regardless of what happens next. If one side is struggling at half time, there’s every chance they will come out stronger after the break. Even if one team is hammering the other, there’s always the chance the team five goals up will let in a last-minute corner while they are celebrating early.

How to place a BTTS bet

Placing a bet is quite simple and most good football betting sites will put up odds on BTTS today. Find the match you’re looking to wager on and select the ‘Yes’ option if you think both teams will find the back of the net, or ‘No’ if you think one or neither of the sides have it in them to score.

What other types of BTTS bets are there?

BTTS are not the only bets that rely on both teams hitting the net. BTTS and Win means you will not only need both teams to score, but you’ll be backing an overall winner too. Though these bets are hard to pull off, they usually come with big odds. Or you could back both teams to score in both halves (BTTS Both Halves) if you think you are odds-on for a high-scoring game.
