Chelsea head coach Graham Potter revealed the main reason why he isn’t worried about the Blues’ scoring woes.

After a disappointing five months in charge at Stamford Bridge, Potter has largely failed to get a tune out of his large and youthful squad.

Saturday’s 1-0 win against Leeds United was just their second in all competitions in 2023, scoring only their seventh goal since November 5.

Wesley Fofana headed in the winner against Leeds and called on all of his Chelsea teammates to chip in with goals, taking a bit of pressure off of their misfiring forwards.

Speaking to the media post-match, Potter spoke of the importance to return to winning ways, and later insisted that Chelsea have enough quality to get over this recent scoring slump.

“If you create chances the goals will come because the quality of the players is there,” Potter said.

“I’m delighted for the players and for the supporters because they are the most important in the football club.”

He added: “It’s really good for the players to win and to keep a clean sheet. It gives us confidence…as we prepare for a massive game on Tuesday.”

Chelsea next welcome Borussia Dortmund to Stamford Bridge, looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit in their Champions League last 16 tie.
