Chelsea head coach Graham Potter was delighted with the performances of Thiago Silva and Mykhailo Mudryk in their 0-0 draw at Liverpool.
The Blues held their own at Anfield and were unlucky to have had an early goal from Kai Havertz ruled out for offside by VAR.
Silva was named man of the match and Mudryk came off the bench to cause the hosts real problems with his trickery and pace.
Speaking to BT Sport post-match, Potter was pleased with improvements across the board, but particularly with how Silva and Mudryk fared.

“I thought the performance was good. Happy with the team, happy with the energy in the team, what we tried to do. Obviously we’re playing against an opponent that is at Anfield always tough. I’m happy with a lot of it, we obviously wanted to win but in the end it’s a clean sheet and a point for us, we move forward,” he said.
“I thought first half we were decent, a little bit unlucky not to get the goal [to stand], offside is what it is. But throughout the game I thought we had good energy.
“I thought they started the second half well and we adjusted a couple of things then and got a bit more control in the game, had a couple of chances. So overall it was a positive day apart from the fact we didn’t get the three points.”
Discussing Silva’s impact, Potter said: “He’s helping Benoit [Badiashile], that’s his second game in the Premier League, I thought he did really well. But to have Thiago Silva alongside him is a big help. I’m delighted with his form, he’s an important player for us, a leader in the team, leader in the group, he looks like he’s enjoying his football.”
Regarding Mudryk’s clear impact on Chelsea’s attack, he added: “He’s not played football for a while, he’s been on a mid-season break so we had to manage his minutes and he’s still in that phase. But I think you can see his quality. He had a good impact on the game.”
