Liverpool can continue their late push for a European place against Nottingham Forest this weekend.

The Reds are nearing the end of a terrible season in which they have underperformed in every competition they have partaken in, one year on from nearly winning an unprecedented quadruple.

Jurgen Klopp’s team return to Anfield to host a Nottingham Forest side who have won just once on the road all season, sitting bottom of the Premier League away table with six points from 15 games.

Steve Cooper’s Forest are back in a rut and have slipped into the bottom three with just seven games remaining.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of their meeting.

Liverpool team news

The only expected absentees for Liverpool are Stefan Bajcetic, Calvin Ramsay and Naby Keita.

Klopp could name an unchanged lineup following Monday’s demolition of Leeds at Elland Road.

(4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Jones; Salah, Gakpo, Jota

Nottingham Forest team news

While Klopp has only a handful of minor injury concerns, Cooper’s large squad has been whittled down due to fitness concerns.

However, Nottingham Forest should be able to welcome back a chunk of their injured contingent soon, with Willy Boly, Serge Aurier, Ryan Yates, Omar Richards, Gustavo Scarpa and Dean Henderson all nearing returns.

Giulian Biancone and Chris Wood are out for the season, while Cheikhou Kouyate is still a few weeks away from a comeback.

(3-4-1-2): Navas; Felipe, Niakhate, McKenna; Williams, Freuler, Shelvey, Lodi; Gibbs-White; Awoniyi, Johnson

Liverpool remain as ruthless as ever at Anfield, losing just once all season at home in the Premier League. Contrast that with Nottingham Forest’s dreadful away record and this is surely a banker for the Reds.

Mohamed Salah is up to 15 league goals despite his season being viewed as subpar by his standards, while Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo have been on the scoresheet again.

Luis Diaz is expected to step up his reintegration here, too. It could be a long afternoon for Forest.

Prediction: Liverpool 4-0 Nottingham Forest
