Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has travelled with the rest of the squad for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final.
After sustaining an ankle injury in the recent victory over Barcelona, Rashford posted a worrying injury update on Instagram and manager Erik ten Hag later admitted his involvement in Sunday’s final is uncertain.
Losing Rashford would be an obvious blow to a United side looking to end their six-year wait for a trophy. The 25-year-old is enjoying the most prolific season of his career and has bagged 24 goals in 37 games across all competitions, including five in five in the Carabao Cup.
On this week’s edition of TFP, Chelsea legend Joe Cole joins Harry Symeou, Grizz Khan, Scott Saunders and Hunter Godson to discuss all the UEFA Champions League action from midweek, as well as look ahead to this weekend’s biggest fixtures. If you can’t see this embed, clickhereto watch the video!
While Rashford’s fitness level remains uncertain, the forward has been included in the travelling squad and could still have a role to play at Wembley.
Rashford has excelled on the left wing for United in recent weeks but may be called on in attack to replace Wout Weghorst, who has struggled in front of goal since his January loan from Burnley and was poor last time out against Barcelona.
Both Jadon Sancho and Antony would be keen to start out wide and Ten Hag could reward his wingers for their recent resurgences.
Anthony Martial remains out for United, limiting their options in attack.
