As mentioned, Tuesday’s premier action came from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea and Liverpool played out a fourth successive 0-0 draw. Their mid-table positions in the overall table are reflected in that of the form one.
Elsewhere, Brighton‘s late UEFA Champions League push continued with a 2-0 victory at struggling Bournemouth, rising into the form table’s top four and strengthening their hold on sixth place. Gary O’Neil’s side remain in the relegation zone.
Leicester‘s miserable run continued with a late 2-1 loss at home to high-flying Aston Villa, who are only behind second-placed Man City in the form table by virtue of goal difference and have climbed into a Europa Conference League spot. The Foxes are stuck in 19th and are up against it in the fight to beat the drop, posting the worst record over the last five games.
Their rivals in the East Midlands, Nottingham Forest, aren’t faring much better though. Steve Cooper is under enormous pressure after they fell 2-1 to Leeds at Elland Road, throwing away a one-goal advantage. Javi Gracia’s Whites are up to 13th in the standings, and rather surpisingly have the sixth-best record over the last six games.
