Some teams – looking at England (surprisingly!) and Spain here – have been delightful to watch. Some teams – including Qatar themselves – have looked absolutely dreadful. While you can’t make too many conclusions from the first set of fixtures, the situation for traditional powerhouses such as Argentina and Germany does look pretty perilous. With all that in mind, let’s get 90min’s World Cup power rankings underway, listing the 10 best teams in the competitionRead More →

Maguire had struggled badly for form during the 2021/22 club season off the back of what had actually been a very impressive Euro 2020. The United skipper was then dropped by new manager Erik ten Hag following two disastrous outings against Brighton and Brentford, before a hamstring injury then ruled him out of seven games. Maguire returned to play 90 minutes for United in a Premier LeagueRead More →

But with Bale in the starting XI named by manager Rob Page and Gunter among the substitutes, it pushed the former Real Madrid star one clear into new record territory. Arsenal remain in the driving seat to qualify for the Champions League quarter finals as group winners despite the dropped points.
