Antonio Conte has confirmed that Richarlison will miss Tottenham’s upcoming clash with Manchester United due to injury.

The Brazilian forward, signed by Spurs in the summer transfer window, hobbled off with an injury in the club’s 2-0 win over Everton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening.

Speaking after the game, Conte confirmed that the injury is bad enough to mean that he will miss the upcoming midweek game at Old Trafford: “Yeah for sure he’s out against Manchester United. He felt something in his calf and he won’t be available for that game.

“I think he needs a bit of time to recover. It’s a pity because we are talking about a player that gives us a lot of quality but at the same time also is strong and he improves our intensity.”

Speaking the game itself, the Tottenham manager said:

“I think we have to be really happy because, in my opinion, we played a good game. We created a lot of chances and we had an injury during the game with Richie [Richarlison], this situation could create negative things for the team but instead we found the right solution with Bissouma and three midfielders, with Son and Kane as the only two strikers.

“I liked the attitude, the behaviour, we started the game very well but I think in the first have we could’ve paid more attention because we conceded two counter-attacks, we could do much better. But in the end we won and we played a good game that our fans enjoyed this performance. We have to continue this way.
