Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world and always have been, so it’s no surprise that they’ve picked up some big wins.

The biggest of them came in 1974 when they beat Norwegian amateurs Stromsgodset 11-0 in the first round of the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup.

Their second and third biggest victories came in cup competitions too, but they’ve been on the right end of thrashings in the Premier League plenty of times as well.

Here are their biggest league wins ever.

A long time before they were beating Liverpool to Premier League titles, Manchester City were battling it out at the other end of the table, as was obvious in this match.

Liverpool were 2-0 up after just five minutes and put another four past their opponents in the second half.

Liverpool were putting together a title challenge at the start of 2002 and really hit their stride on a trip to Ipswich.

The hosts couldn’t deal with the duo of Emile Heskey and Michael Owen, with both strikers bagging a brace.

Owen had plenty of matches to remember for Liverpool, and this one was one of the very best.

The striker reached 100 Premier League goals in it by banging four past West Brom that day, with Milan Baros getting the other two.

The Derby side of 2006/07 is one of the worst to ever grace the Premier League, and that was obvious when they came up against Liverpool early on that year.

Much of their pain was inflicted by Spain with Xabi Alonso and Fernando Torres both scoring twice.

Newcastle weren’t very good in 2012/2013, and Liverpool made that abundantly clear towards the end of the season.

Despite being without Luis Suarez, who had just been suspended, they cruised to a 6-0 win after Daniel Agger got the ball rolling just three minutes in.

The most recent of Liverpool’s 6-0 victories came at Villa Park in the winter of 2016, during Jurgen Klopp’s first few months at the club.

All of their goals game between the 16th and 70th minute with six different players getting in on the act.

Liverpool’s win over Southampton at the turn of the century was a memorable one for a number of reasons.

Not only was it the first time they scored seven goals in a Premier League game, but it was also the match that saw Robbie Fowler reach 100 goals for the club, with the striker getting a hat-trick.

Liverpool first won a Premier League game by seven goals at the end of 2020, with Crystal Palace being on the wrong end of the drubbing.

It looked like it would end 5-0, but a late double from Mohamed Salah ensured the match would go into the record books as the club’s biggest-ever league win at the time.

Beating Man Utd is always a sweet feeling for Liverpool, but this victory was especially satisfying given the manner of it.

The home side went into the break 1-0 ahead in what was an even game, but the visitors fell apart spectacularly after conceding two goals at the start of the second half, with a front three of Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo and Salah tearing them apart.

Liverpool’s biggest win ever came earlier this season, when they put nine unanswered goals past Bournemouth.

Roberto Firmino was the star of the show that day, getting two goals and three assists, with five of his team-mates also finding the back of the net.
