An exasperated Carlo Ancelotti refused to discuss the recent report that long-time Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappe’s contract actually expires in 2024, not 2025.

Real believed they had agreed a deal to sign Mbappe on a free transfer this summer, only for the Frenchman to surprisingly agree to a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain which was advertised as a three-year deal until 2025.

However, L’Equipe have now claimed that Mbappe’s contract is only for a guaranteed two years, with the 2024/25 season actually an option which can be triggered by the player himself and not by the Ligue 1 side.

Unsurprisingly, that sparked a fresh wave of speculation about Real’s interest in Mbappe, but Ancelotti was having absolutely none of it.

When asked for a reaction to the report about Mbappe, the boss responded: “I give up!

“Honestly, we’re happy with the players we have, especially the youngsters. We’re excited about Vinicius and Rodrygo and not thinking about others right now. That’s the truth.”

Mbappe himself recently fuelled the rumour mill by teasing a move to Real further down the line, claiming the Santiago Bernabeu ‘feels like your house’ even though he has never played there.
