The Premier League’s finest goalkeepers were once again at their brilliant best during March.

Throughout the month, the men between the sticks made wonderful save, after wonderful save, after wonderful save.

Here’s the six saves that have made the March Castrol Save of the Month shortlist:

Illan Meslier is one of the most highly rated young goalkeepers in Europe and he showed why during Leeds United’s clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Leeds number one stood tall when up against Kai Havertz in a one-on-one situation during the first half of the game, getting a strong hand to the German’s attempted chipped finish.

In what may be a season-defining game for Arsenal in their quest to win their first Premier League title since 2004, Aaron Ramsdale pulled off a potentially season-defining save.

With Arsenal caught with a swift counter-attack from Bournemouth, Ramsdale was forced into a heroic stop to deny Dango Ouattara what looked a certain goal – scampering quickly across his box to track a Dominic Solanke cross and get his body in front of Ouattara’s subsequent side-footed effort.

The Portuguese goalkeeper made a stunning stop to prevent Dejan Kulusevski from scoring what would’ve been a fantastic goal at Molineux, diving down to his right to tip a curling effort just around the post.

The 4th March really was a great day for goalkeepers.

The final nominee from the 4th March is Alphonse Areola, who tipped a brilliant long-range strike from youngster Julio Enciso onto the crossbar and clear of danger.

David Raya has been one of the better goalkeepers in the Premier League for the last two seasons, and he continued to impress in March with a miraculous point-blank save to deny Alex Iwobi what looked like a certain goal.

Deputising for the injured Hugo Lloris, veteran goalkeeper Fraser Forster put in a great performance against Nottingham Forest in March.

As well as saving an Andre Ayew penalty late in the game, Forster also pulled off some acrobatics to deny Serge Aurier a goal in the 80th minute too.
