Bayern Munich youngster Jamal Musiala thought he was going to land himself a match-worn Lionel Messi shirt following Wednesday’s Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain.

Musiala impressed in the match at the Allianz Arena as Bayern won 2-0 on the night, progressing 3-0 on aggregate after also winning the first leg in Paris and getting into the quarter-finals for the 11th time in 12 seasons.

But the 20-year-old, who had seen teammate Alphonso Davies come away with Messi’s shirt in the reverse fixture, wanted an additional souvenir.

Having been replaced before the end, Musiala was seen at the final whistle gesturing to the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner that he wanted his shirt. Messi responded by pointing towards the tunnel, suggesting he would it hand it over once they had left the pitch.

But…it seems as though he didn’t.

Musiala was later asked by reporters in the mixed zone if he had managed to get Messi’s shirt. The response, however, was, “I didn’t find him.”

The Germany international had a bag with him, but apparently all that was in it was a pretzel.
