Nottingham Forest have made a bid for long-term target Josh Bowler, 90min understands.

The Blackpool winger has been a target for Steve Cooper since January when they tried and failed to agree terms with the Tangerines.

Now Cooper is back and, at his behest, big spending Forest have launched a bid worth around £3m for the 23-year-old, who has less than 12 months left on his current deal.

Bowler has two goals to his name already this term, and has been one of the Championship’s stand-out attacking players in 2022.

Blackburn Rovers had been looking closely, but the chance to move to the Premier League would be a big lure for former Everton man Bowler – who has also attracted interest from Bournemouth and Fulham.

Despite adding 18 new names to their squad already this summer, Forest are pushing on for more and Bowler is one of those that they are trying to land. Club officials are waiting to hear if their bid has been accepted or not.
