Tottenham are back in Champions League action on Tuesday when they travel to Sporting CP.

Spurs were due to face Manchester City on Saturday but the game and the rest of English football’s schedule was postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

In their last outing, Antonio Conte’s side beat Marseille 2-0 thanks to two headed goals from Richarlison.

GK: Hugo Lloris – Spurs were a nervy wreck on their return to the Champions League last week and Lloris’ display between the sticks didn’t help. Needs an assured performance as captain.

CB: Cristian Romero – Surprisingly subbed off before full time last against Marseille as Conte brought on more legs at the back.

CB: Eric Dier – Dier’s unique career path saw him start in Portugal with Sporting. He returns to his former club a key part of Conte’s defence.

CB: Ben Davies – Left out of the starting XI last week in favour of Clement Lenglet. The Frenchman was slightly shaky, so Davies may come in.

RM: Emerson Royal – Solid defensively but still yet to impress in the attacking third. Still just about fighting off competition from Matt Doherty and Djed Spence to be first choice.

CM: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – Quietly enjoying a good start to the season with two goals and an assist in his last five games.

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur – Still keeping the likes of Oliver Skipp and Yves Bissouma at bay, the Uruguayan is set for his 33rd Champions League appearance.

LM: Ivan Perisic – Reports this week claimed Inter ‘regret’ allowing Perisic to leave on a free transfer this summer. The Croatian has three assists in his last six games.

RF: Richarlison – Tottenham’s match-winning pigeon struck twice against Marseille last week, planting in crosses from Hojbjerg and Perisic.

LF: Son Heung-min – Still looking a shadow of the player who won the Golden Boot last season. Claimed just before the weekend he’s not concerned by the run of form, but a goal in Portugal would do him good.

ST: Harry Kane – Has 20 goals in the Champions League but never got close to bagging his 21st last week. Has netted against German, Greek, Dutch, Cypriot, Serbian, Spanish, French, Russian and Italian opposition in the competition.
